About this module
In this module, you will learn about emotions, what they are, and why we need them. You'll learn about some of the myths of emotions and how to address the challenging factors (such as biology and worrying) that can make regulating emotions difficult. When it comes to describing emotions, you'll learn about the components that make up your emotional response and how to navigate this complex system.
Goals of Emotion Regulation
• Understand and identify your own emotions
• Decrease the frequency of unwanted emotions
• Change unwanted emotions once they start
• Decrease vulnerability to your emotions
• Increase resilience and ability to cope with difficult things
• Decrease suffering from painful emotions
• Manage extreme emotions so that you don't make things worse
